It probably doesn't come as a surprise that we at Kluuf are nerds and bookworms. One of our favourite books is Atomic Habits by James Clear, in which the author elaborates how new habits are formed. According to Clear, it takes an average human about 66 days to automate a new habit; say to do something without having to weigh the alternatives in your head, such as automatically washing your face in the morning after getting up. Of course, 66 days is an average and the range to form a new habit ranges from 18 to 254 days.
On average, it takes more than 2 months before a new behaviour becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact. And how long it takes a new habit to form can vary widely depending on the behaviour, the person, and the circumstances. In Lally's study, it took anywhere from 18 days to 254 days for people to form a new habit. source
(Unfortunately) skin care does not work in such a way that you notice enormous visual differences immediately after the first application. It's more like going to the gym (minus the sweat and moaning, of course): it takes a bit of time and consistency to see the first changes. But as soon as one starts to notice smoother skin, fewer wrinkles or simply a healthier appearance, one usually doesn't want to stop.
The good thing is that Kluuf is uncomplicated and skincare with us takes less time than brushing your teeth. If you still need a little help building your skincare routine, here are a few useful tips that other users have found previously helpful:
1. Place Kluuf's products next to the toothpaste

3. Don't be hard on yourself
We know how difficult new habits can be. It doesn't matter whether it's exercise, nutrition or skincare. If you forget one or a few applications, don't give up right away. Every application of our products is good for you and your skin, regardless of whether it was forgotten the day before or not.
